LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION
To Whom it May Concern:
As the president of Shoreline Players, a local community theatre group in Oscoda, Michigan, I look for material that is as entertaining as it is meaningful to the children and adults of our community. Much of the time the material is either too young for older cast members, or is initially written for adults and then adapted for younger players. Many times there’s not nearly as many parts as players and we have to rely on double casting.
This past weekend, I traveled to Rogers City to see the World Premiere of ‘Curtain Call, The Musical.’ This show fits the bill for what a youth program can accomplish. The story is a simple enough premise—a show about putting on a show—yet takes the idea and blends in meaningful, funny, toe-tapping and memorable songs that anyone who has ever been a child can relate to.
The show is seamless in content, has room for a large cast, and takes the kids and their audience on an emotional journey that never feels like a lecture or a message. It’s like life and how we all have to navigate the twists and turns of circumstance and chance. I would recommend this show to anyone and I plan to bring the idea to our board so our youth program can put this show on stage for our town. Congratulations on a job well done.

(Ms. Miller did in fact succeed in convincing her board members and staged the show for 8 performances in two separate runs. Shoreline Players’ ‘highlight reel’ available upon request.)
